Heritage Talk: The Everything 150 Project

Wednesday, 19 February 2020 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Parks are rare open, free and informal spaces in this busy city full of commerce. Yet this quality makes capturing the life of a park challenging. The Museum of London with 2NQ has explored how archaeology (usually reserved for the study of the past) might help us understand the many users and uses of Finsbury Park. Museum of London curator Kath Davis and 2NQ curator Simon Poulter are joined in this talk by heritage media specialist Dr. Angela Piccini of Bristol University. Together we’ll discuss how the approach of an archaeologist helps and hinders our understanding of the world around us, and share what we think we’ve found out about Finsbury Park in 2019.

This is the second of a series of heritage talks forming part of the People + Heritage programme connecting the present and future Finsbury Park community to its 150-year heritage as The People's Park.
